from casual to rockstar

I could wear black and white forever.

skull glasses Apostrophe, pique shirt Folded & Hung, jeans Mossimo, belt Uniqlo, boots Palladium, messenger bag Black Label Homme

Ran from work to dinner/catch-up with friends at Greenbelt 5. I like how cuffing my pants easily transformed my look from weekend casual to rocker! My glasses just screams personality, but from a distance, they look quite normal.

I'm actually really the most excited for my Palladium boots. They make such a huge impact in turning an otherwise normal outfit into an edgy get-up!

I've lusted over wanted these boots since I was in Grade 7. At that time, the 'it' shoes were Dr. Martens and these ones. I got 2 'Docs' boots when we went to London-- a rich chocolate brown and sand-colored suedes. Both 8-holes. I found Palladiums weird at that time, but was fascinated because of it's shape. That extra rubber in front made all the difference. But low-cut was the way to go. Unfortunately, you could only get them in Greenhills at that time, and Greenhills was a very foreign place to me then.

Years later, they're back! And they have more styles and colors!

these ones, i really, really, REALLY like!

My boots are fold-up, just like these ones

And they're extremely comfortable. Very soft.

All in all, i'm happy to report that i have no regrets getting them, even if i had to trek all the way to Katipunan to get them. Only 2 stores sell them in Manila, and the one literally 2 minutes away from my office didn't have the style I wanted. Anyway, it turned out to be a fun adventure with friends, so I didn't mind one bit :)

corpo-retro!

Been a while since I wore brown with dark blue. I usually wear brown shoes with brown, beige or khaki pants. I'm a (relatively) safe dresser. Shoot me!

This time though, I found it cool. I've always been a fan of retro/vintage. Throw my anything from the 40's to the 70's and I'll probably like it (even/especially the music). And this look kinda makes me look like I come from that era. With the Instagram filter-- perfect!

shirt Calvin Klein, pants Folded & Hung, belt Uniqlo, shoes Pedro, wallet Louis Vuitton, bracelet Tiffany & Co., aviators Babo

What would be a nice alternative for after work would be these Nike kicks.

I would think twice about getting them cos they look too dated, but hey, they look vintage! They're nice and sleek in a very hippie-vintage kind of way. just pop these on, push up my sleeves, and I'm good to go!

who wore it vest?

My friend, Von, brought me back this vest from his Hong Kong trip. I quickly wore it, pulled up my pants and asked for a photo. After taking my photo, he laughed and showed me the photo of the mannequin he pulled it from.

Well, look at that! Khaki, white, and the vest!

Who wore it best?:)

white hot

It was mom’s birthday last 8 April. She threw a swimming party at our house in Antipolo. I haven’t gone back in ages, I wanna go more often.

straw hat Topman, aviators Babo, white shirt Maldita Men, white swimshorts Zara, white sneakers Kenneth Cole, accessories Top and Bottom

Got these white walking shorts / board shorts from Zara in Florence last year. It was too short for Manila-standard boardshorts, but I was in Europe, I didn't care. Plus it was on sale(!!!). I also am not really very fond of too-long board shorts. Methinks they make the wearer look short. Unless if you were, maybe, a model or something.

There's something about above-the-knee shorts that I like. It's cooler, plus it's easier to move in them. for instance:

And it's more stylish than any of the longer shorts you'll see. As timeless as Cary Grant and Randolph Scott circa 1935

...minus the high-waist, of course.

But of course, people back here are not as used to this as those in Europe ('yet', I'm hoping), so I'm limiting myself to wearing them to my private parties for now.

playful + dapper

Hi. I'm Jonelski. Been blogging for a couple of years now (though sporadically) and I've noticed a sudden surge of bloggers recently, focusing on style and fashion, specifically. Thought of creating another one to serve as a documentation of my random outfits. Just for fun.

I like taking photos of what i'm wearing. The iPhone and my SLR have been my best friends. Instagram, too. And Pose. I want to be more playful with what I'm wearing, every chance I get. Playful,  but still dapper.

Let's see where this journey takes me :)
